Pick a lane before you build a portfolio

Start with the work you want to do: reporting, production, audio, design, audience, communications, marketing, product or engineering. Select two or three samples that make your fit easy to understand instead of sending every project you have.

Label your contribution

For each sample, state the assignment or goal, what you personally did, which tools you used and how the result was reviewed. Do not imply that you produced an entire group project or publish work you do not have permission to share.

Check the practical terms

Media programs vary widely in hours, term length, location and housing support. Confirm whether a role is part time during a semester or full time in summer, whether it is hybrid or on site, and whether you can afford the location before applying.
