Terms of Use
FirstInternships provides free informational content, optional personalized internship emails, a private candidate Talent Network, and planning tools for current college students. By using the service, you agree to use it responsibly and subject to these terms.
An independent informational directory
FirstInternships is not an employer, application processor, or representative of a listed organization. Names and marks identify their respective organizations; inclusion does not imply affiliation or endorsement. Applications are made on official employer or program websites. The Phase 1 Talent Network is a private candidate pool and is not currently making employer referrals or placements. Before that service changes, additional operating, legal, consent and contractual requirements must be completed.
Eligibility and availability
Program guides reflect official sources at their stated review dates, not a continuously refreshed feed of vacancies. Requirements, deadlines, compensation, locations, and availability may change. College-year labels and personalized matches are starting points, not determinations that you qualify. The selected opening and the employer's current instructions control.
We do not guarantee selection, interviews, offers, compensation, visa sponsorship, academic credit, or conversion to full-time employment. Editorial preparation advice and newsletter recommendations are general information, not inside knowledge of an employer's hiring process.
Optional accounts
You can browse the directory and use the local planner without an account. If you create an account, you must use a Google account or email address you are authorized to use and keep sign-in links and authenticated sessions secure. You are responsible for activity through your session. Notify us if you believe it has been misused.
Accounts use Google sign-in or passwordless email links through Supabase. Google sign-in is only for authentication; FirstInternships does not request permission to read Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or Google contacts. Requesting a link or choosing Google does not guarantee delivery or continuous account access. We may limit sign-in requests, suspend access, or remove accounts when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these terms, comply with law, or secure the service.
Personalized internship newsletter
An account, including one created with Google, does not automatically enroll you in the newsletter. Subscription requires a separate, optional affirmative choice and email confirmation. If you subscribe, provide preferences that reflect what you actually want to receive. We may use those preferences to select directory programs and guides, but we cannot guarantee a particular number, cadence, freshness, or relevance of matches.
You may unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter or the signed-in account page. We may suppress or stop sending to addresses that bounce, complain, appear abusive, or create deliverability or security risk. Do not use the service to enroll another person without their permission, interfere with unsubscribe or confirmation links, or probe tokens and account endpoints.
Private Talent Network
The Talent Network is optional, separate from newsletter consent, and currently limited to authenticated users who confirm they are at least 18. You must provide accurate information about yourself and upload only a resume you have the right to use. The upload is limited to one PDF and may not contain malware, another person's confidential information, Social Security or bank information, government identification numbers, medical information, or other material unrelated to candidate matching.
The fast intake presents one clear Yes-or-No decision after file selection. Choosing Yes confirms that you are at least 18 and instructs FirstInternships and its AI service provider to read the resume, build a private profile, create a private job-related matching index, identify possible opportunities, and contact you. You may review and correct the AI-built profile afterward. Choosing Yes does not authorize blanket employer access or constitute an application, referral, employment-agency representation, guarantee, or employer decision. Employers cannot browse the Phase 1 pool. Before sharing your resume or contact details with a named employer for a specific opportunity, FirstInternships must obtain a separate approval from you.
The AI-built profile or suggested matches may be incomplete or inaccurate and remain subject to human review. The system does not determine whether you qualify, reject you, make an employer's hiring decision, or authorize employer sharing. Do not rely on an extracted field or suggested match as a guarantee of eligibility or availability; review important profile details and verify official employer requirements.
You can update, pause, turn off AI matching, export or delete your Talent Network profile using the signed-in controls. Pausing excludes the profile from active matching. Turning off AI matching removes its derived index and pending indexing job but keeps your private profile and PDF. Deletion removes the structured candidate record, stored resume and derived matching records, subject to minimal records reasonably retained to document your instruction, secure the service, resolve disputes or comply with law. Deleting a candidate profile does not delete the authentication account, newsletter status, local planner, exported files or data held independently by an employer.
The Talent Network and any future placement service remain free to students. If placements launch, an employer may pay FirstInternships under a separate agreement. No employer fee may be charged to you, deducted from your compensation, or used to buy a favorable editorial ranking. FirstInternships does not guarantee a match, introduction, interview, offer, start date, compensation or continued employment.
The personal planner
Saves, notes, checklists, and planning stages are stored locally in your browser and are not synchronized to the account. A planning stage such as “Applied” or “Offer” is your own record, not confirmation from an employer. Data can be lost if site data is cleared, storage is blocked, or you change browser or device. Export a copy if you need a backup, and avoid storing sensitive information.
Contact and suggestions
The contact form opens a draft in your email app. It does not send a message or create an internship application. Submit factual suggestions with official source links. Do not email credentials, magic links, confidential employer material, resumes, transcripts, or sensitive personal documents. The only resume intake is the signed-in Talent Network PDF upload.
Acceptable use
Do not interfere with site operation; attempt unauthorized access; impersonate another person or an employer; upload malicious or misleading documents; access, enumerate, scrape or sell candidate information; automate abusive account, magic-link, confirmation, upload or email requests; evade suppression or rate limits; submit misleading corrections; or use the directory for spam. Respect copyright, privacy, anti-discrimination, academic-integrity requirements, and the rules of sites you visit.
Third-party services, links, and advertising
Authentication, private profile and resume storage, email delivery, hosting, analytics, and external employer sites are operated in part by third parties. We do not control their availability or independent policies. Review the privacy policy for information about Supabase, Resend, local planner storage, Talent Network data, audience measurement, and planned advertising.
Display advertisements, when enabled, are labeled and separate from editorial program information, navigation, account prompts, and official application controls. An ad is not a recommendation, ranking signal, or guarantee. Visitors are never required or encouraged to click an advertisement to use the directory.
Newsletter sponsorships and employer campaigns, when accepted, are also clearly labeled. Payment can buy disclosed distribution, but not changes to sourced eligibility, deadlines, compensation, availability, editorial conclusions, or ordinary directory ordering. Commercial partners do not receive subscriber lists, resume lists or individual student preferences. A future candidate placement is a separate service and requires the candidate's specific approval.
Account and data requests
You may use signed-in Talent Network controls or ask for access, export, correction, pausing, or deletion of account, newsletter and candidate-profile information by contacting contactfirstinternships@gmail.com from the account address. We may need to verify control of the account. Deletion is subject to information we must retain to honor unsubscribe, suppression or candidate-withdrawal choices, comply with law, protect security, and resolve disputes. Deleting an account does not delete local planner files, exported copies or data held by an employer or another provider.
No professional advice
Content is educational and is not legal, immigration, tax, financial, career-placement, or other professional advice. For decisions requiring such advice, use current official information and a qualified adviser where appropriate.
Availability and changes
The service and its informational content are provided as available. Features may change, pause, or end. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim warranties and liability arising from reliance on directory, newsletter or candidate-match information, third-party services, interruptions, unauthorized account access, email delivery failure, resume-storage failure, or loss of locally stored planner data. These terms do not exclude rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.
We may update the service or these terms. The date above identifies the latest version. Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply to the extent permitted by law. Contact contactfirstinternships@gmail.com with questions or corrections.
