Who can apply?

  • Applicants must be full-time students as defined by their university at application and have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • A relevant degree, major, or minor is required, and the undergraduate graduation date cannot be before the internship starts unless the applicant is already in a full-time graduate program.
  • Southwest says most roles require junior standing with at least 60 hours, while some allow sophomores; the selected opening controls.
Easy to miss

Sophomore eligibility is role-specific; the existence of some sophomore openings does not lower the junior-standing rule on other internships.
