Who can apply?
- The Times accepts applications from students in degree-seeking programs and from non-conventional backgrounds, including boot camps, associate programs and recent graduates. The page states no class year, GPA or major requirement.
- All internships are hybrid and based out of the New York office; remote internships are not offered.
- These are not journalism internships: the Times says it replaced its newsroom internship with a year-long fellowship in 2018. Its separate Times Corps mentorship program, open to rising college freshmen, sophomores and juniors interested in journalism, is unpaid and not employment.
Postings go up the week of October 26 and close November 2. Waiting to see the roles before preparing a resume leaves only a few days.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
With a window of about a week, the preparation has to happen before postings appear. Draft your resume and a short, adaptable paragraph on which part of the Times' business interests you — subscriptions, games, cooking, advertising, product — then tailor it to each of your two to four roles.
The Times says it welcomes applicants from boot camps and associate programs. If that is your route, lead with a concrete project and its result rather than explaining the path; the program is telling you the path is not a problem.
