Who can apply?
- Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree and expect to graduate between December 2028 and June 2029. The published graduation window controls; Evercore does not convert it to one universal college-year label.
- All majors are encouraged to apply. Evercore seeks a strong academic record, demonstrated knowledge of investment banking and global markets, quantitative and analytical ability, effective communication and a strong work ethic.
- The role expects students to handle several projects at once and learn in a boutique environment. The posting does not publish a GPA minimum, work-authorization rule or remote-work option.
Evercore permits only two applications a year, and a withdrawn application still counts. Do not use a slot on a team or location you have not researched just because the deadline is approaching.
Dates, pay & program timing
Applications for the Summer 2028 New York Generalist program opened September 9, 2026 and close November 15, 2026. Evercore says applications are not reviewed on a rolling basis. The program runs ten weeks and the posting states an expected base salary range of $120,000; it does not say an intern earns $120,000 during the ten-week term.
These details reflect the sources at the review date. An overview is not a live job offer. Check the official page for today's application status and the selected opening's written terms.
How to apply to Evercore
- Compare Evercore's Summer 2028 programs before submitting. Students may submit at most two applications, and withdrawing one does not restore the slot, so choose the two teams and locations you can support with real evidence.
- Prepare the required campus cover letter and a resume that clearly states your expected graduation month and year. Connect coursework, employment or projects to strategic analysis, accounting, valuation, research or client communication.
- Submit through the official Evercore posting by November 15, 2026. The posting says review is not rolling, but the date has no published closing time, so set an earlier personal cutoff rather than assuming midnight.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Evercore names M&A, restructuring, recapitalization, divestitures, partnerships and joint ventures as possible assignments. Choose one recent transaction or strategic decision and practise explaining the objective, alternatives, valuation questions and one risk; do not pretend to know confidential deal details.
The posting emphasizes small teams, client contact, financial modeling, complex accounting issues and due diligence. Prepare one example where you found a mistake or weak assumption in an analysis, corrected it and explained the consequence clearly enough for someone outside your class or project team.
Evercore's own interview page recommends knowing the firm, current financial news and your personal story. Link one current market development to the advisory work named in the posting, then rehearse a concise explanation of why this specific generalist program fits your experience.
