Who can apply?
- Pfizer's early careers page says applicants must be current freshmen through seniors at an accredited college or university at the time of application, and the Pfizer Futures page requires full-time enrollment in an accredited degree program at that point.
- Applicants need at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA as of the most recently completed semester. Pfizer sets a 3.3 minimum for R&D roles.
- Applicants must be immediately authorized to work in the US — the program cannot support anyone who needs employer-sponsored visas now or in the future — and must be at least 18 before the scheduled start date.
- Interns must be able to commute to a Pfizer location at least four days a week, and Pfizer notes that some lab and manufacturing roles need more on-site days.
The GPA is checked as of your most recently completed semester, and R&D roles require 3.3, not 3.0. A student with a 3.1 who applies for an R&D placement fails a rule the page states plainly.
Dates, pay & program timing
Pfizer publishes the application window for the 2027 cohort as October 5 to November 8, 2026. No time of day is given for the close, so no exact cutoff instant is recorded here. The Pfizer Futures page does not publish term dates, weekly hours, a pay figure or a list of host sites, and it does not say whether seniors must return to school after the summer.
These details reflect the sources at the review date. An overview is not a live job offer. Check the official page for today's application status and the selected opening's written terms.
How to apply to Pfizer
- Before October 5, check the four hard gates: your cumulative GPA as of your last completed semester (3.3 if you want R&D), US work authorization with no future sponsorship need, age 18 by the start date, and a Pfizer site you could reach four or more days a week.
- When the window opens, start from the apply link on the Pfizer Futures page. It leads to an application portal branded Atrium Staff Apply rather than to Pfizer's main job search, so beginning on Pfizer's own page is the reliable way in.
- Submit before November 8, 2026 and keep the confirmation. Pfizer gives no closing time, so treat the day before as your working deadline rather than the last evening.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
The GPA rule is measured at the most recently completed semester, and R&D carries a higher bar than the rest of the program. If you sit between 3.0 and 3.3, only the non-R&D placements are open to you — decide which part of Pfizer you are aiming at before you write anything rather than after.
Pfizer says prior industry experience is not required and describes looking for initiative, accountability and collaboration. Prepare two concrete stories: one where you took on work nobody assigned you, and one where you worked through a disagreement in a team. That is closer to what the page asks for than a list of courses.
Work out your commute before applying. Four on-site days a week is a condition of the program and the page mentions no relocation or housing support, so name the Pfizer locations you could realistically reach.
