Who can apply?
- Applicants must have senior undergraduate standing and a graduation date in December 2026, May 2027 or August 2027.
- Applicants must be current dues-paying members of an AAF college chapter or unaffiliated AAF student members. The portal says dues must be received by November 6, 2026.
- Selected students must commit to all program activities in New York City from February 22 through February 25, 2027.
The membership deadline is November 6, earlier than the November 10 application deadline. Waiting until the application cutoff to pay dues can make an otherwise complete applicant ineligible.
Dates, pay & program timing
The official portal lists an information session on October 15, 2026 at 5 p.m. EST, an application deadline of November 10, interviews from November 30 through December 9, selection notices on December 10 and New York programming February 22–25, 2027. It publishes no compensation, travel award or housing benefit, and this is a career program rather than an internship job.
These details reflect the sources at the review date. An overview is not a live job offer. Check the official page for today's application status and the selected opening's written terms.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Use the short essays to show how you think about audiences, culture and business rather than repeating the resume. One specific campaign, student-media decision, community project or customer insight can reveal both judgment and an informed interest in advertising.
Treat the 75-word introduction as a spoken pitch, even though it is submitted in writing. Name the kind of work you want to do, one credible proof point and the perspective you would bring, then read it aloud until it sounds like a person rather than a slogan.

Add a stage & next actionAmerican Advertising Federation: questions before applying
Is AAF Most Promising Students an internship?
No. The official site describes a career-launch program with New York programming and industry access, not an employment placement.
Which seniors can apply in 2027?
Undergraduates graduating in December 2026, May 2027 or August 2027 who also meet the AAF membership and attendance rules.
Does the program publish travel or housing funding?
The reviewed 2027 portal does not state a travel award, lodging benefit or compensation. Ask AAF before making a budget assumption.
