How to apply to NBA Foundation

  1. Monitor the NBA's official early-career page for the 2027 fellowship application promised for Fall 2026. Do not substitute an unrelated NBA job posting for the fellowship route.
  2. When the application appears, confirm HBCU enrollment and every cycle-specific rule, then identify the team or business functions that match your evidence.
  3. Submit through the application route linked by the NBA and keep the confirmation. Record any separate placement preferences, documents or interviews rather than assuming one general submission covers every team.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

Show the business behind basketball. Use evidence from ticketing, events, sponsorship, analytics, community work, social content or technology, and describe the actual outcome and your own part in it.

Research both league-level and team-level work. A candidate interested in social responsibility should understand how a local team program differs from a central NBA initiative; that specificity helps you state a defensible placement preference.
