Who can apply?

  • Technical and nontechnical internship candidates must be currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university; some software and business roles also accept graduate enrollment.
  • Interns must be available full time for at least 12 weeks, and individual openings add degree, project, location, and term requirements.
  • US space-technology export regulations restrict eligibility, and SpaceX says it cannot sponsor students in F-1 visa status for these opportunities.
Easy to miss

SpaceX says its intern population is predominantly upperclassmen and graduate students, but that is a candidate profile—not a published minimum class-year rule.

Dates, pay & program timing

No universal cutoff confirmed

SpaceX lists spring, summer, and fall internship seasons and says recruiting for a posted position can continue over roughly six months. Official Summer 2027 engineering and business-operations listings were available at review; site and discipline availability varies.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

For engineering or software, describe what you designed, built, tested, or debugged, including failures and the evidence behind your final decision.

For business operations, show ownership of a process, supply-chain, finance, sourcing, analytics, or operational problem with a measurable outcome.
