Who can apply?
- Spirit's central college page describes paid internships for college students but does not publish one universal class year, major, GPA or authorization condition for every opening.
- A reviewed manufacturing-engineering posting required full-time enrollment in an aligned university degree, good academic standing, sophomore through graduate status and US-person status. Treat those as requisition-specific terms, not automatic rules for the whole program.
- Current openings can span engineering, accounting and finance, information technology, quality, manufacturing and supply chain. The selected job defines which coursework and experience matter.
A previous role's sophomore or US-person requirement does not automatically apply to every future opening. Recheck the current requisition instead of copying eligibility from an older posting.
Dates, pay & program timing
Spirit describes a Summer College Internship Program built around meaningful projects, professional development, plant exposure, networking, mentoring and an intern project expo. The central program page says all internships are paid but does not announce one universal future-cycle deadline, weekly schedule, housing package or set of term dates. Check a current official opening before planning participation.

How to apply to Spirit AeroSystems
- Use Spirit's careers site to find a current college internship and read its student year, degree, location and US-person or work-authorization language.
- Tailor your resume to the named function and show one example of safe, repeatable or measurable work rather than writing one generic aerospace statement.
- Submit through the official portal and save the opening; ask about term dates, housing and location support before accepting because the overview does not make those universal.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Manufacturing teams care about repeatability and handoffs. Explain a design, build or process example through the specification, tooling or method, inspection, failure and corrective action.
If your background is business, IT or supply chain, connect your evidence to how parts, information or decisions move through a production system. Do not force an engineering story that does not fit your work.
