How to apply to Microsoft

  1. Find an Explore opening for your country on Microsoft Careers, rather than applying to an unrelated role displayed on the overview page.
  2. Read its required qualifications and graduation/enrollment rules. Put your expected graduation month and year on your resume.
  3. Submit through the official careers portal and use its Action Center to track the employer's decision.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

Use one class or personal software project to show how you approach a problem. Explain the user, your contribution, the technology you chose, and one trade-off. A small working project is easier to discuss than a long list of tools you have barely used.

Practice describing how you debugged a failure and how you worked with someone else. Our suggestion is to make your learning process visible; this is not a promise about Microsoft's interview questions.
