Who can apply?
- The summer program is for students at four-year colleges or community colleges and recent graduates up to three years after college. All majors may apply; most interns are juniors, seniors or recent graduates, but HCC also considers freshmen and sophomores with strong community commitment and health interests.
- Applicants must commit full time for ten consecutive weeks during daytime business hours. HCC does not permit summer classes, standardized-test preparation, another job or another paid or volunteer position during the internship.
- International students attending school in the United States may apply if they independently hold the authorization needed for the internship; HCC does not sponsor or supply immigration documentation. HCC says DACA students and applicants are eligible.
HCC requires the internship to be the student's main summer commitment. Summer school, MCAT or GRE preparation and another job or volunteer role are specifically not permitted during the ten weeks.
Dates, pay & program timing
HCC's official site labels the 2027 intern application as coming soon but publishes no opening date, deadline, exact summer dates or stipend amount. Summer internships are paid, full time and ten consecutive weeks, typically beginning in late May or June. Do not treat registration or an information-webinar form as the internship application.

How to apply to Health Career Connection
- Use HCC's official page to register for updates and wait for the 2027 internship application; the program has not published a deadline on the reviewed pages.
- Prepare the stated first-stage materials: application questions, a resume or CV and short essay responses. Select only regions where you can supply your own housing and transportation.
- If invited, complete the HCC fit interview and then the host-organization interview. A placement is final only after the mutual-fit process, not after the first application or interview.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Map your interests to two or three HCC focus areas such as community health, quality improvement, policy, data analysis or behavioral health. Then choose evidence from coursework, employment or community service that shows what you can contribute without pretending you have already chosen a lifelong health career.
Plan the summer constraint before applying. HCC provides neither housing nor transportation and asks applicants to select regions where housing is available. A remote or hybrid placement also requires internet that HCC does not provide.
