Who can apply?
- Applicants must be at least 18, enrolled full time in an accredited bachelor's program with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent, and have completed one year of college before the internship begins.
- Students must remain enrolled after the internship, be in the United States for the program and be available for a full-time schedule. Amgen does not translate these timing rules into a specific college-year requirement, so this guide does not assign one.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for the program. Amgen says sponsorship for future full-time roles is not guaranteed and asks interns to be available to accept full-time employment by July 2028 if offered.
Remote does not mean location-free. The posting requires the student to be in the United States for the program and describes an on-site headquarters visit.
Dates, pay & program timing
The live Summer 2027 posting does not publish a fixed application deadline; Amgen says it will accept applications until it has enough candidates or selects someone. It lists base pay of $28.87 an hour and includes an on-site visit to headquarters in Thousand Oaks within an otherwise remote role.

How to apply to Amgen
- Confirm the completed-year, continued-enrollment, GPA, US-location and work-authorization rules before applying. A student graduating before the end of the internship does not meet the stated return-to-school condition.
- Show evidence for the work: a financial or quantitative analysis, a healthcare-access question, a forecast, or a cross-functional project where you turned evidence into a recommendation for a decision-maker.
- Apply through Amgen Careers using job ID R-253424 while the role remains live. There is no calendar deadline to wait for, and the posting can close once Amgen has enough candidates.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Value and access is not simply finance or public health in isolation. Practise explaining how a medicine can be clinically useful yet still face coverage, reimbursement or distribution constraints, and be careful to distinguish what you learned from public sources from your own interpretation.
The role ends in recommendations to colleagues and leaders. Prepare one example in which you cleaned or organized information, compared options, made a recommendation and explained what would change your conclusion. Be ready to show both the analysis and the communication judgment.
