Who can apply?

  • Parsons names computer science, civil engineering, environmental science and engineering among its internship areas but leaves degree, student status and technical requirements to each opening.
  • The employer says only a small number of internships require a clearance during the internship, while many require future eligibility for one. In US roles, that can require proof of US citizenship; follow the selected posting.
  • Formats include in-person, hybrid and a small number of virtual roles. The job title or description controls the arrangement and location.
Easy to miss

Clearance and citizenship conditions vary. Parsons explicitly tells candidates to use the individual job description, so do not apply one defense-related role's rule to the entire program.

Dates, pay & program timing

No universal cutoff confirmed

Parsons' published North America timeline begins campus recruiting in September–October, interviews and hiring in October–December, final hiring in December–February, and internships from May into June–August.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

For infrastructure or environmental roles, practice explaining a technical decision to a non-specialist. For computing roles, include architecture, testing and the result rather than a tool list.

If the posting mentions clearance eligibility, read the requirement exactly and answer truthfully. Do not infer that every Parsons internship has the same citizenship condition.

Parsons: questions before applying

How long are Parsons internships?

Parsons requires a 10-week minimum, while some interns work longer through extensions or return internships.

Are Parsons internships remote?

Parsons offers in-person, hybrid and virtual formats, but says more than 90% are in person or hybrid. The posting identifies the format.

Do all Parsons interns need a security clearance?

No. Parsons says few need a clearance for the internship itself, though many roles require future eligibility. Check the selected job description.
