Who can apply?
- Alaska Air Group says eligibility is based on graduation year and that it typically looks for undergraduate juniors. It does not publish one accepted-year range for every Alaska, Hawaiian and Horizon role.
- Internships are full time for 12 weeks and typically require 40 hours per week. Each opening sets the degree, skills, location, work authorization and other requirements.
- All internships are paid. The program page also says eligible out-of-state candidates may receive a relocation stipend and interns receive travel benefits; check the opening and offer for the terms that apply to you.
'Typically juniors' is guidance, not a universal eligibility rule. The graduation-year requirement in the individual opening controls.

How to apply to Alaska Air Group
- Check the Alaska, Hawaiian and Horizon internship page and current internship search around mid-October; the employer says the normal posting window is only about two weeks.
- Use the selected opening's graduation-year and degree rules rather than treating 'typically juniors' as automatic eligibility for every role.
- Apply through the official careers site, save the role description and confirmation, and ask about the exact worksite, relocation eligibility and travel-benefit terms only after confirming the role itself fits.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Airline roles reward operational thinking even outside flight operations. Prepare an example of working accurately under time pressure, coordinating dependencies, using data to make a decision or communicating when a plan changed.
Research the specific company and team named in the opening. Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air serve different networks and operating contexts, so one generic answer about liking travel misses the work.
