Who can apply?
- Databricks' 2027 Software Engineering Intern and Product Management Intern postings require graduating in fall 2027 or spring 2028 with a degree in computer science, engineering or a related subject.
- The software engineering posting asks for implementation skills in a language such as Python, Java or C++ and good knowledge of algorithms, data structures and object-oriented design.
- Databricks says it can consider only one application in 30 days and asks software engineering applicants to apply for the single location they most want.
The one-application-per-30-days rule means applying to the wrong posting first can block the right one. Read the term and location before submitting — one 2027 software engineering posting says it is only for Winter 2027.
Dates, pay & program timing
Databricks says most interviews follow local academic calendars, with applications typically opening in August and hiring on a rolling basis. Most internships last 12 or 16 weeks. At review, the 2027 software engineering posting was for the Winter term (January to April) only, listing $54 to $60 an hour in the San Francisco Bay Area and $51.50 to $60 in Bellevue; the Summer 2027 product management posting listed $54 to $56 and $51.50 to $53.50.

How to apply to Databricks
- Check the graduation window on the posting — fall 2027 or spring 2028 for the 2027 postings reviewed — and the term, since one software engineering posting is Winter only.
- Apply to a single posting and location; Databricks says it can consider only one application in 30 days.
- Prepare for role-specific interviews: data structures and algorithms with attention to code quality for software engineering, and product fundamentals for product management.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
Databricks says it evaluates code quality and cleanliness, not only correctness. Practice solving a problem and then refactoring your solution into something readable under time pressure.
Its platform is data and AI infrastructure — query engines, pipelines, governance. A project involving data processing at some scale, or a database or systems course project, is worth leading with. This is our suggestion.
