Who can apply?

  • AstraZeneca says the program is designed for undergraduates — freshman, sophomore, junior and senior — as well as master's and doctoral students, and points to individual job advertisements for specific educational requirements.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 and hold US work authorization or an EAD at the time of application, and must return to school when the program closes; candidates graduating before or during the program are not eligible.
  • For the majority of roles, interns must be able to report on site without relocation assistance. The page does not state pay, a GPA or a deadline.
Easy to miss

Seniors qualify only if they return to school when the program ends. AstraZeneca states that candidates graduating before or during the program are not eligible, so 'senior' on the page does not cover a student finishing in May.

Dates, pay & program timing

No universal cutoff confirmed

On the review date the US internships page said applications are closed and to check back for updates. It gives no dates for the next cycle, so none are inferred here. It describes a 10–12 week summer program and tells students to search the careers site with Early Talent selected as the category and to subscribe to job alerts. A separate US finance internship, Leaders in Finance Tomorrow, asks for a 3.0 GPA, a finance or accounting concentration and a completed second undergraduate year.

How to apply to AstraZeneca

  1. Pick a track and a site you can reach. AstraZeneca lists Business, Supply Chain & Communications; Chemistry, Biology & Pharmaceutical Sciences; Engineering; Technology & Data Science; and Safety, Health & Environment, each at named sites.
  2. Subscribe to AstraZeneca's job alerts and search its careers site with Early Talent as the category, since the program page was closed when reviewed.
  3. When postings reopen, read each advertisement's educational requirements, which the program page says differ by role. Finance and accounting students with two completed years should also check the LIFT program.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

The track list pairs each area with named majors and sites — Technology & Data Science, for example, is listed only in Maryland, Indiana and North Carolina. Because most roles expect you to get there without relocation help, match your major to a track whose sites you can actually commute to.

The program includes resume and LinkedIn workshops, one-to-one career advising and a poster day. A poster day rewards interns who can explain a project visually to people outside their team, so if you have presented a poster or lab report before, mention it and what you learned about explaining your work.
