The location list is not a menu. Amazon says applicants are considered at every US location that hosts interns, preferences are not guaranteed, and the role is in the office Monday to Friday.

Dates, pay & program timing

No universal cutoff confirmed

The posting says intern roles are in person and 12 weeks long, starting in May or June and ending in August or September 2027. Some Winter and Fall 2027 openings may exist, and placement outside summer is not guaranteed. It lists starting pay of $109,395 a year in Seattle and Arlington — an annual rate — and publishes no application deadline. Amazon's SDE program page describes an online assessment and then interviews, with a result within five business days of interviewing. This is Amazon's general route, separate from the Annapurna Labs internship.

How to apply to Amazon

  1. Check the graduation window first: the posting requires an expected degree conferral between October 2027 and September 2029, with at least one term left after the internship.
  2. Apply to the Summer 2027 (USA) posting. You are considered for all US intern locations and can state location preferences and specialist areas, such as machine learning or distributed systems, in the application.
  3. If the recruiting team moves forward, complete the online assessment. Interviews may follow, and Amazon says results come within five business days of the interview.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

The posting's specialist list — machine learning, databases, embedded systems, game development and others — is used to align you with teams. Choose the one or two where you can name a real project, and describe it, rather than selecting every option.

Amazon's SDE page names coding, data structures, algorithms and object-oriented design as core competencies, and the posting asks interns to validate AI-generated code. Practice explaining how you would test code you did not write yourself. This is our suggestion, not a description of Amazon's assessment.
