Who can apply?
- The current 2028 posting accepts undergraduate students graduating between December 2028 and May 2029; it does not translate that window into a universal college-year label.
- Citadel looks for intellectual curiosity about businesses and investing, strong analysis, and the ability to reach reasoned conclusions from incomplete or imperfect information.
- The posting also asks for clear written and verbal communication, attention to detail, ownership of work, openness to feedback and interest in developing financial-modeling skills with data and technology.
This application opens far ahead of the internship. Eligibility is the December 2028–May 2029 graduation window, not whatever college-year label a student happens to use when applying.

How to apply to Citadel
- Confirm that your expected undergraduate graduation falls between December 2028 and May 2029; use the published window rather than guessing from a freshman, sophomore or junior label.
- Read the CAP overview, then tailor your resume to company research, analytical coursework, data work, financial modeling or another project where you formed and defended a conclusion.
- Apply through Citadel's 2028 CAP posting while the application form remains available. No official deadline was published at review, so track the posting instead of inventing a calendar cutoff.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements
How to prepare a stronger application
CAP interns rotate across equities teams and a former intern describes building an earnings model, valuation framework and long-or-short thesis before pitching it. Build a short practice brief on one public company: identify the business drivers, show the assumptions behind a simple model, state what would disprove the thesis and separate facts from estimates. This is preparation advice, not an application requirement.
Citadel's posting emphasizes decisions made with incomplete information and a willingness to revise assumptions. Rehearse one example in which new evidence changed your conclusion. Explain the original view, the signal that challenged it, what you recalculated and how you communicated the update; that is more specific to the work than a generic claim that you are adaptable.
