Who can apply?
- The 2027 program is open to current students who intend to graduate between December 2027 and August 2028. Ares accepts all majors and uses the graduation window rather than a college-year label.
- Candidates apply to individual internships across Ares business areas, so location, team-specific qualifications and work-authorization rules must be checked in the selected posting.
- Ares says a cover letter is not required for the Summer Internship Program. It does not publish one firm-wide GPA, prior-experience or major requirement on the early-careers page.
The December 2027–August 2028 graduation window is the program rule; it should not be replaced with an assumed junior-year label, especially for accelerated, transfer or longer degree schedules.
Dates, pay & program timing
Ares describes a paid 10-week program beginning in June 2027. US positions appear at several points during the year, typically beginning around January with additional releases around March and August; UK positions are due in September. Offers can be made throughout the year, and no single company-wide application deadline is published.

How to apply to Ares Management
- Confirm that your expected graduation date falls between December 2027 and August 2028 before comparing the individual US or UK openings.
- Choose a business area you can explain—such as credit, real estate, infrastructure, private equity or secondaries—and read its role-specific location and qualification details.
- Submit the official application for that opening without adding an unrequested generic cover letter; Ares says the summer application does not require one.
- Track each posting separately because US roles are released in waves and the UK uses its own September timeline and role conditions.

How to prepare a stronger application
Ares lists several genuinely different investment platforms. Build a short rationale for one: name the asset or financing question that interests you, describe one company, project or transaction you studied, and explain the risk you would investigate next. Avoid saying you are equally interested in every strategy.
The program emphasizes meaningful work, mentorship and exposure to deals. Prepare an example of improving an analysis after feedback: state your first approach, the evidence or comment that changed it, what you recalculated and how you communicated the revision to the team.
