Who can apply?

  • The intern postings reviewed — software engineering, analog IC design and finance — each require current pursuit of a degree in a named field and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 or higher.
  • Each of those postings states that Texas Instruments will not sponsor applicants for visas or work authorization for the position.
  • Degree level varies: many postings are bachelor's-only, some are MS/PhD, and the finance posting accepts bachelor's or master's students.
Easy to miss

The 3.0 GPA is a minimum requirement on these postings, not a preference, and TI states it will not sponsor visas for them. Check both before tailoring an application.

Dates, pay & program timing

No universal cutoff confirmed

At review TI listed several dozen US intern postings published in September 2026, most based in Dallas, with others in Santa Clara, South Portland and regional sales offices. The postings reviewed state no pay, dates or deadline; the finance posting describes a summer program. TI's student page says many interns return for another internship or join its Career Accelerator Program after graduating.

How to apply to Texas Instruments

  1. Browse the engineering and business role families on TI's student page, then search current intern postings for the one that matches your degree.
  2. Check the posting's degree level (bachelor's or MS/PhD) and confirm your cumulative GPA is at least 3.0.
  3. Apply through TI's careers site after confirming your work authorization, since TI states it will not sponsor for these roles.

Our editorial advice · not employer requirements

How to prepare a stronger application

TI's analog and embedded focus means circuits coursework counts. For design roles, describe a lab where the measured result differed from the simulation and what you did about it; for software roles, the posting prefers C and assembly, so point to low-level code you wrote.

For manufacturing, process and packaging roles, a project with physical constraints — yield, tolerances, a process you improved — reads better than a pure software project. This is our suggestion.
